What is sandblasting process

Sandblasting, in simple terms, is the use of compressed air to form a high-speed spray beam, driving the spraying material (usually quartz sand, diamond sand, iron sand, etc.) to spray onto the surface of the workpiece at high speed. Due to the impact and cutting of the abrasive on the surface of the workpiece, the workpiece surface can achieve a certain degree of cleanliness and different roughness, thereby improving the mechanical performance of the workpiece.
Application of sandblasting technology
1. Oil and rust removal, sandblasting can be used as a pre-treatment process for workpiece painting and plastic spraying, which can remove rust and other dirt on the surface of the workpiece and form a certain rough surface, thereby improving the adhesion of plastic powder and paint film.
2. For machined parts, the sandblasting process can remove surface burrs and make the workpiece more aesthetically pleasing.
3. For castings or heat treated parts, sandblasting can remove surface oil stains and oxide scales, improve surface smoothness, and leak out the true color of the metal, making the workpiece more aesthetically pleasing.
4. For stainless steel parts, different reflections or mattes can be achieved through sandblasting.
